Cleveland Clinic MyConsult Pre-Adoption Consultation:

An Online service to help assist adoptive parents preparing to welcome an internationally adopted child into their lives.

Cleveland Clinic's MyConsult Pre-Adoption Consultations for internationally adopted children are conducted by Elaine Schulte, M.D. Dr. Schulte is a board-certified pediatrician at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital in Cleveland Ohio with interest and expertise in international adoption. Dr. Schulte has cared for hundreds of children from China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Korea, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Romania, Bolivia, Columbia and India. She is an executive committee member of the Section on Adoption and Foster Care in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Joint Council on International Children's Services. Dr. Schulte is an adoptive parent of two wonderful children from China as well.

There are 3 Pre-Adoption Consultation services offered:

• Pre-Adoption Consultation ($565) - Preparatory consultation for parents which includes medical record review and pre-travel phone consultation, and ongoing email access to Dr. Schulte, including travel consultation. This consultation will prove helpful for parents with referral information or parents already traveling overseas who are requesting an initial evaluation. Included is a review of medical records, photos, and videotapes along with access to sub-specialists as needed.
  
  
• Record Review ($285) - A one-time medical record review, which may include photos and/or videotapes. If ongoing access is needed for additional questions, or while traveling overseas, please request a Pre-Adoption Consultation.
  
  
• General Adoption Information ($285) - A personal phone consultation with Dr. Schulte to answer general medical questions regarding adoption. If ongoing access is needed for additional questions, or while traveling overseas, please request a Pre-Adoption Consultation.
